Today, is the day! I have been granted permission to stretch these legs out and RUN! Seeing that my motivation continues, I am getting closer and closer to being back in shape! I am 11 weeks out, and can already start running!!!! Now, I do have some restrictions which are to be expected. I am to try to understand what a pony ride feels like....for the pony. I am bound to that same circular motion, but preferrably on a track rather than a smelly stall thing. The "usuals" (morning SHS track walkers with their 5lb weights) will just have to move over as I come flying around those corners! Sadly I will have to leave my walker friends behind, but I'm ready to break free! As much as I loved being able to ride a bike, the seats are far too small for the junk in my trunk. Now I will just be able to walk funny out of soreness rather than uncomfort! Huzzah! I have a run planned for after work today, so we'll see how that goes. It will be interesting to take that first step, but so liberating! If anyone feels that they want to "feel the burn," let me know and we can make a trip to the track!
Imagine what it will be like when I can do bleachers.....
Dear Hailey... LOVED SEEING YOU YESTERDAY!! Oh Karlie's reception was gorgeous and perfect. Um, hey, question: do you live at home?! I need a running buddy. I live in Springville right now, but we're moving back to Mapleton soon. If you ever need someone to run with, give me a shout!
ReplyDeleteI love you.
I can't wait for the day that Kellie Crandall will come to run with me! Sadly, I am super slow, and even have to stop halfway through for a break! Once I get in top shape we can go... eh?
ReplyDeletei can see it. hair, blowing in the wind gloriously behind you as you break the shackles of opposition, reeling towards that pearly gate which is...freedom to run. not death:)
