Disneyland!!

Alright I finally uploaded all my pictures from our California trip, so now I can dump them into here! For my personal journaling purposes I'll give a short summary, a million pictures, then some good memories at the end.  :)

Day 1- Headed to St. George with Todd that evening and saw a killer sunset.  I love car rides with him because we listen to music and talk about the strangest topics.  Once we got to the condo we watched some Olympics then decided to give Todd a haircut.

Day 2- Chillin' like a villain in St. Geezy with all Todd's little nieces and nephews.  We went to the pool, went shopping (bought my very first softball mitt -if that's not fully invested I don't know what is), and discovered my new favorite store bought ice cream (Blue Bunny Chocolate Peanut butter Cone - or something.... DOMINATION).  The condo was absolutely gorgeous. I would live there full time in a heart beat.

Day 3- Woke up early, dealt with grumpy workers at McDonalds and started our drive to sunny California!  What else did we do... oh yeah, drove. and drove some more. oh and a little bit more.  Todd and I watched the Office, parts of Despicable Me, and Bourne Identity.  Matt showed off his incredible singing talent and Camie kept us all sane with her huge bag of Gummy Bears.  Eventually we did make it to Newport Beach, and oh man..... I can't tell you how much I love the beach!  Newport was a new experience for me and I certainly wasn't disappointed.  The water was a little chilly at first, but after I was engulfed by a few waves it turned out to be quite nice!  I learned a valuable trick while there though.  ALWAYS have gum in your mouth when playing in the water.  Why? I'm confident that I consumed at least my months worth of salt intake during the 4 hours we were there, and the only thing stopping me from throwing up every 5 minutes was that I found a piece of gum.  After the beach we took a walk on the pier, saw some massive pelicans, Todd and I escaped away to eat at the Spaghetti Factory and then we all headed back to our hotel.

Day 4- Hello California Adventure!  They have really made some awesome additions since I was last in Disneyland, including CARS LAND!  Man oh man I think I was just as excited as the little kids were to see Mater, Lightening, Flo's, the Cozy Cone and to take a ride through Radiator Springs.  That place was magical.  It was life size and perfect, and I couldn't get enough. We stayed for the parade and the World of Color which was awesome too!!  I had no idea what to expect, but that World of Color was absolutely fantastic! Favorite rides in California Adventure: California Screamin', Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania, Grizzly River Run, It's Tough to be a Bug and Radiator Springs Racers.

Day 5- Hello Disneyland!  This whole experience brought back a lot of memories from when I came with my family forever ago, but Disneyland really made me excited.  Which is hard to imagine more excitement was to come after I had jumped up and down with my hands waiving everywhere screaming with joy the day before. The kids were in heaven with Peter Pan, It's a Small World and some of the other kid rides. You know, I can see how Todd and I could have a blast just coming to Disneyland by ourselves, but it would never compare to how much fun it was to see all the kids get so excited and to share that happiness with them. Never.  Disneyland truly is the happiest place on earth.  Favorite Rides in Disneyland: Space Mountain (duh), Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Indiana Jones, Mad Tea Party, Pirates of the Caribbean and Splash Mountain.

Day 6- Because each family had kids of different age levels, who all wanted to go on different rides, we all split up and did our own thing in either California Adventure or Disneyland. It was fun to be with Todd and to ride what we wanted to ride, and we did just that.  Over the three days, I think we rode a few of our favorites at least 6 times.  Want to know our secret?  Fast Passes.  Oh wait it's not a secret.  For some reason 90% of the population at Disneyland did not catch on to how amazing Fast Passes are.  We would walk right through to the front of the line of every ride and listen to people moan and groan about waiting in a 120 minute line.  Honestly I don't quite understand why, but I don't want to complain too much because due to people's ignorance, we were able to jump right on to every ride!

Day 7- Packed up and drove back to St. George.  Stopped at the Nike Outlet, of course. :) Spent some time in the pool and played some catch with my new mitt!  Then slept with gum in my mouth and woke up with gum stuck to my pants.  Woke up the next morning and headed home!

Now for the PICTURES!

Mashter Yoda hahaha

I'm not sure why I have a mustache...?
Extra Fast Passes we didn't have time to use!

*Notice how the first 7 favorite memories were about food.... Todd and I definitely know what we are doing when it comes to food.  Everyone else had a hard time finding good places to eat, but not us!  Of course, it's a little easier when we aren't trying to figure out what to feed little kids. haha So, if you ever go to Disneyland and need suggestions on where to eat..... Carnation Cafe and Flo's Cafe.... you won't be sorry :)
